What’s the difference between MBTI® For You and MBTI® For Your Career?

MBTI® For You is about understanding yourself and others: the assessment, your confirmed type, your Myers-Briggs® Profile report and four personal courses. MBTI® For Your Career includes all of that and adds a specific focus: your best-fit occupations, ranked by how likely you are to be satisfied in them, so you can find and explore work that fits.

Why only personality? What about my interests and skills?

Your career matches look at work through your personality preferences, which shape what comes naturally and feels most comfortable to you. We also have a great deal of real-world data on personality and job satisfaction, which is what makes the predictions possible. Your interests, values and skills matter too, so weigh them as you explore.

How is my predicted satisfaction worked out?

Your results are run through a satisfaction model built by The Myers-Briggs Company’s research team from a sample of more than half a million working adults, who took the MBTI® assessment, named their occupation and rated how satisfied they were in it. It estimates how likely you are to be satisfied in each of more than 300 occupations. How satisfaction is predicted.

Where does the salary and occupation data come from?

From US government sources: occupation details (descriptions, work activities, education and job outlook) from the US Department of Labor’s O*NET® database, and salaries from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

I live outside the US. Is this still useful?

The occupation data, such as salary and job outlook, reflects the US market. The insight into which work fits you still applies anywhere: treat the matches as directional guidance and check local details for your market.

I’ve taken the MBTI® assessment before. Do I need to take it again?

If you took it with us on app.mbti.com, no: your career matches are built from your existing results. If you took it somewhere else, or on our previous site, yes. Your matches and predicted satisfaction come from your answers to the assessment, so everyone starts with it here.

I already own MBTI® For You. Do I pay full price?

No. Sign in and the upgrade price is applied for you. You keep your existing results and don’t retake the assessment.
