Questions

Is this the official MBTI® assessment?

Yes. The Myers-Briggs Company publishes the MBTI® assessment. You can take the official assessment in three ways: here, with an MBTI® Certified Practitioner, or through your organization or school. Free online quizzes that borrow the four letters are not the MBTI® assessment.

Is the Myers-Briggs® assessment the same as the “MBTI test”?

Yes. MBTI stands for Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. It is an assessment rather than a test: there are no right or wrong answers. It measures your preferences in four areas: how you get energy, take in information, make decisions and organize your world.

How long does it take?

The assessment takes most people 20 to 30 minutes. Confirming your best-fit type takes another 10 to 15. You can stop and pick up where you left off.

Why does it cost money?

The MBTI® assessment is backed by more than 70 years of research and extensive evidence of reliability and validity. The fee funds the ongoing research that keeps it meeting the highest standards, and pays for what you get: your confirmed type, your Myers-Briggs® Profile report and four personal courses. It is a one-time price, with no subscription.

What do I do after I get my results?

I already know my type. Do I need to take it again?

Does the MBTI® assessment have a scientific basis?
